tbh most of the albums w a 4.6 here are undeserving of it. they're good albums but i don't think there's a single one that's a top favorite of mine.

i think the highest rated album here that's 5 stars to me is lift your skinny fists, and then below that its Shape of Punk to Come, then Still Life, then The Downward Spiral, Dirt, Relationship of Command, and Jane Doe. everything 4.4 and up that's a 5-star classic to me. so really, the entire 4.6 library here is overrated that I've heard.

I listened to Bound live a few months ago and he sang those two clean lines but went out of keys. of course Jesper's official answer will be the standard

Haven't hit the last song yet but damn that prerelease hype (peeps itt talking about them ascending to another level, lmfao) had me hoping this would be a lot more than what it actually is, which is, as it turns out: another Counterparts album

"another counterparts album" is still a very high standard tbh

True enough, I just hoped they'd break out of the mold that their sound resides in a lil more

Definitely one of their better albums but they just don't click with me at all. There are some absolutely solid riffs here though, I'll give them that.

Agreed, not a fan of the cleans, not a fan of the roughs much either tho. In fact, I can safely say I hate the vocals and they're my least favourite thing about this album.

"I just never understand how some of these bands in metalcore don't listen back and realize how bad the cleans sound. I'm not at all against using cleans in this music, it can work well but...least make sure the guy can do em well lol."
I think it's just a completely different vibe they're going for than what you probably want, 90% of the time metalcore cleans rule to me. there's a certain emotiveness I don't hear outside of that and like mid-2000s emo.

The process of memorising the lyrics is kinda painful. Can't help but complain that it's really hard to understand content without logical and emotional links this time. The only ones I can maybe build an understanding of so far are A Massive Grave, Mirrors, Whispers. The content is obscure compared to past lyrics. I am now extremely confused.
