The previous album had a much more apparent southern and grunge sound, in my opinion. I think a lot of people are using that album for all of these comparisons.

The sound on this album is pretty unique to me. Seems like they pulled back on some of the southern vibes and managed to lean into some mathcore. I’m still surprised that they went that direction lmao

Dude, I always take forever to rate albums.

If this keeps up it will be a 5. Gonna 4.5 it for now and see what a few more listens does.

For me a 5 has to stand a couple dozen listens and become better and better.

Albums that drop off are a huge red flag for me (good example is the last ETID. Just don't feel like listening to it after the first few weeks).

Foreign Anchor is probably my fave here, definitely hits in a similar way

I feel like tracks are starting to / will continue to fall in a kill vs keep scenario, but that one is standing firm

Honestly Empty Black was the hype core release... this is one is hype for those that managed to stay hyped throughout a pretty terrible release rollout.

That being said, it didn't disappoint

"New Vein was somewhat poorly mixed (sadly) and even for his band the new FFAA album has weird mixing that doesn't sit right with me."

The mix on the drums bothered me with the new FFAA. Especially the snare sound.

Damn Jay...

By the way, this has the best replay value of anything I've heard this year.
