I really liked his gospel beats on TLOP but nothing on here feels as coherent as anything on that

Kanye and Young Thug is a godlike combination and that song is catchy as hell. You're not allowed to think it's "not that great"

"that song is catchy as hell"

Then why can't I remember a single chord progression from it 30 minutes later?

There’s a really good 40ish minute album here depending how sharp of a scalpel you want to take to it

"It's crazy to see how little Kanye has to say on a tribute record to his dead mother (and that what little he has to say is exclusively about himself)."

Bruh you clearly ain't payin attention. This has some of his deepest lyrics.

when I first heard the album I thought "jonah" was very moving and a standout but now I think it's...well still good just not as good. "remote control" I like a lot. no real duds on this album (yknow, excepting donda and donda chant maybe), I even don't really mind "tell the vision" tho its not good. cheers

Yeah remote control is dope, one of my highlights on the first couple spins. I think jail, hurricane and jesus lord are top 3 tho. I mean donda chant is objectively #1 tbh
