"I think Pale Communion mops the floor with this one but hey, to each his own ;)"
Let's not go too far now ;). Though it's one of the better post-Watershed Opeth albums. Heritage and Sorceress though....uggh.

People are still shitting on Heritage? That's so 2011, it's cringe lmao

These people ate up Damnnation like it was [chocolate] dynamite and called Ghost Reveries an inspired classic, they'll say anything!

In my defence, I haven't posted since 2014 till recently :P

Sorcerer is the most dad rock album I've ever heard from a band post-1970s.
It's so painfully unself-aware that it's amusing, and I can't help but feel embarrassed for the band.
The peacock album cover says it all.

The more I listen to this the more I think is prog-wankery as it best, shallow snoozefest boredom at its worst. So yeah my point still stands, I prefer Pale Communion.

Back on topic, I think I can finally rank this album personally though knowing me it'll change in time:
Bad Habits
Sfumato/Human is Hell
Revolution in Limbo
Prehistory
Never Seen/Future Shock
Double Helix
The Future is Behind Us
Monochrome
Fix the Error
Stare into the Abyss
Turbulent
Think I might be the only person who has prehistory in their top 5 haha.

That section at 2:30 in Fix the Error is pure bliss!
It's funny how I wasn't too keen of the track when it was first released, but in context, it's one of my favorites now.
Great track ranking too. The Future is Behind Us is probably my favorite if I had to choose just one highlight, but they're honestly all on the same level for me. There's not a moment on here that I don't absolutely love.

i can totally get behind bad habits at the top, that song is BTBAM perfection. thou the album works best as a whole, so ranking particular songs feels kinda useless to me

The moments where the synths and keyboards are at the forefront steal the show.
Tommy is really channeling some Kevin Moore energy on this, and I can't get enough of it!

I have a feeling this review was stricly written by this neckbeard to be one of the first to say he didnt really like an album that a lot of other people are going to like. Did you even listen to it?
This review aint it bro.

That's pretty much my feeling on Revolution in Limbo. I liked it but wasn't enamored with it. Now I adore it, keeps getting better each listen.

Aside from the top 2, this is incredibly difficult for me to rank. Love the Future is Behind Us, it's pretty different from them too. Bad Habits gets the nod for me as top song because there is already an emotional attachment for me (a bias if you will) as there is a clear nod to the song that got me into BTBAM in the first place. Not to mention being an incredible song on it's own right.

Tbf nearly everything pales compared to KC's best albums. And they have at least 4 of that kind.

I can’t believe Turbulent is consistently at the bottom for people. I think that song has some of the most beautiful vocal hooks on the entire album, it’s such a good track and it carries you right into Human is Hell so perfectly. I’d put Turbulent way up at the top of this wonderful album.

Whatever the worst song on this record is, it's still excellent

Tundra not a fan of KC iirc.
Red is legitimately one of my favourite albums ever.
