Neptune Raining Diamonds feels like the perfect title. I feel like listening in headphones looking up at the night sky

After reading all these comments, you guys have convinced me to listen to this album. Haven't listened to Deafheaven in a while, the last album I listened to theirs was New Bermuda and I fell asleep.

I predicted melon giving this a 3/10 in one of the other reviews for this, it was obvious based on his previous reviews of Deafheaven, Slowdive, Deftones, and Hum.

Does he even like anything that's not poptimist bullshit or generic trapper #457?

He dislikes anything that remotely sounds like Death Grips by name, so rip Deafheaven and Deftones.
|

I wonder if he dislikes Death as well.

Which is why I said he has said he does not like dream pop. And that’s well and good and fine. But why the hell review it if you know you’re already not gonna like it? He just makes me mad sometimes *eyeroll*
|
| |
Maybe he does it out of spite, just like how he bashed Ohms or that shitty Gas review where he gave Narkopop a 2.
|
| |
But god forbid if he gave Yass-Slay-Queencore albums a 2.

Melon reviews Deafheaven because he liked RTJ and Sunbather, same reason why he reviews Deftones despite hating their last 4 releases. If this was from Dance Gavin Dance for example, where he clearly dismisses their entire discography, he would never review it.

He actually reviewed Instant Gratification though

Yeah but he admitted that he never liked any of their other releases, that’s the difference

An opinion of a massively popular YouTube music critic is quite different than the opinion of a marginally relevant Sputnik user.

Yeah, instead people should listen to Chris "some of them were listening to Wham!, dude" Ott.

Villain is the highlight for me. His lack of range and overall vocal performance can get a little grating though. I never really felt like they added anything to the album, it probably better off strictly instrumental. By the time Other Language rolled around I was completely over hearing any more of his damned singing, Mombasa saved it though. Other Language needs to be thrown in a dumpster.
