That Olympics opening was so fucking sick
|

These guys just rule so fucking hard live.
|
| |
They really do, I saw them at Red Rocks Amphitheater and it was SICK.
|
| |
That would be an amazing venue to catch them in.

Yeah it was awesome, Devin Townsend, then Gojira, then Opeth. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

Good album, and “Another World” is a classic!

Yeah Grind is massively underrated. I wish they would give us more songs like this that bring the intensity I loved their old albums for.

"about the only redeeming track on this"
A 3.0 rating for an album with only one 'redeeming' song seems a bit high, no?

I loved this at release because I felt whatever they were going for they succeeded. looking back though, they didn't really shine in this transitional phase from going from extreme metal to whatever this is. If I heard Magma and this without knowing anything of the band's previous work, I doubt I'd become a fan straight up. It's not bad at all, still love the more driven songs from this (like Into the Storm, Grind) and Magma. I do feel like some bands can't afford to lose their edge because that's almost all they had going for them, and sad to say Gojira is one of those

"A 3.0 rating for an album with only one 'redeeming' song seems a bit high, no?"
True, should have said outstanding rather than redeeming. The rest is just on autopilot. So, 3.0 -- good.
