pretty much same sonic but honestly it was seeing them live that turned the tables for me. saw them at masquerade when I was in high school and I was still like “they sell CC shirts in hot topic that band is for poseurs”.
they came on and absolutely fuckin killed it, like the most professional fuckin set I’d ever seen in my life. corpsegrinder was the best frontman I’d ever seen up until that point and, to make it even better, halfway through the show some dickhead threw a bottle at the stage and it got Alex Webster and he got on the mic and was basically like “if I find out who did that shit I’m coming down there and beating the fuck out of you” hahaha it was gloroius.
the corpsegrinder goes “I guess we’re gonna switch it up, this song goes out to you asshole. this one is called I WILL KILL YOU.”
after that show I would never talk shit about this band ever again.

I remember seeing them back in 2012. The whole performance was great, but when they got to Hammer Smashed Face, that pit was legitimately scary (still in a good way, lol). I thought I was gonna lose my hearing that night because I kept getting pushed up against one of the two huge speakers in the venue while I was moshing. Fun times
