"I just hate Matt Bellamy's singing in general. His pseudo operatic bullshit is so goddamn annoying. He's like 80% of why I don't like Muse"

Knights of Cydonia still slays after all these years.

Hoodoo doesn't get nearly enough love, probably my favourite on here. Just moves so well from start to finish.

Cydonia is still my favorite Muse song, even if it possesses the subtlety of me posting in a black metal thread

It's the only song by these guys I could ever get into, and even that one is hilariously cheesy.

hoodoo is phenomenal yeah. i saw it as filler for the first few years of listening to the record but it's seriously one of their best compositions

This album and "Knights of Cydonia" in particular make for fantastic pump-up music

Downloaded the vinyl for this album and holy wow this is incredible. Supermassive Blackhole was my least favorite on the album but the complete decompression makes it pack so much more punch and overall sounds way sexier and badass and I now understand why people liken Map of... to Depeche Mode. Yeah and it also caused me to go from a 3.5 to a hard 5.
Fuck the loudness war

lol. have to rejam at some point. love OoS and absolution and i did enjoy this album too, but nothing else afterwards...
my cd copy of absolution fucking sucks. it has this thing that prevents it from ripping to my computer, and when i play it on my computer, the tracks get super distorted. shame since its my favorite album from them, and theres no way im gonna rebuy it

Oh yeah I remember that bullshit on CDs. What a stupid and annoying feature. Not sure what they were going for there lol

How long ago was that feature instated on CDs? As stupid as it sounds, I assume it was instated to prevent the music being mass uploaded or being blackmarketed on burnt CDs

Yeah it was in the days when Kazaa and Limewire were still being used I think. I don't think torrenting was as big as it is now. Can't remember tbh.
I bought the Singles compilation from The Chemical Brothers when it was first released in 2003 and it had that feature too.

i think i read something where sony or universal or something had a problem with cds being ripped to the computer and got into huge legal trouble for it.

I think they were just trying to put a stop to file sharing at the time.

Map of the Problematique, Assassin and City of Delusion are definitely the best tracks in this record. On the other hand I can't dig Supermassive Black Hole and I consider Exo-Politics a weak track
