"collect all 8 deluxe cds and 8 deluxe vinyl albums!"
how about i collect fucking zero you evil white consumerist-baiting she-devil
|
| |
the pastel colour palette across the vinyl editions is pretty fucking sultry though on second thought i'll take all 17 physical versions

can you imagine buying 8 versions of a taylor swift LP of all things tho? let alone CDs
|

It’d be more boss if it was actually like jandek and the different covers were for actually different releases, but it’s a slick capitalist-as-Artiste move as it stands. Cool photos. Album is just boring tho, classic soppy ballad songwriting, there’s no there there imho, would much rather hit Fearless. Or any of the other albums

If there was anything beyond the different coloured discs and the photos to warrant additional purchases I'd be less pessimistic about it. Think the photos are mostly extremely weak personally.

If I really needed a bunch of black and white pictures of some horse girl in some grass I'd just photoshop some stock images for free

This soundoff lmao
"the strength here - just like on the best The National cuts - is the devastating nonchalance: lines like "does she mouth fuck you forever?"

Folklore isn't quite classic National status haha. But I do hear a lot of SWB and IAETF, with it being much better than the latter in terms of melody and cohesion.

Never thought I'd say this but I'm probably getting the vinyl lmao, I just love it so much.

I ordered the "running like water" cover just because I wanted a CD copy with the bonus track and I figured if I was gonna buy one I may as well get one of the rare ones

Do CDs nowadays still come in those plastic cases? Or are they mostly the foldout kind

seems about 50/50 between plastic and cardboard these days. judging by the pictures on the website the new T-Swizzle is plastic

"Illicit Affairs" is quickly become a favourite. The way she sings the verses kind of remind me of Regina Spektor. Love it.

The one time my ears really perked up was the ending of “invisible string”

Out of context thought you were talking about pop stars for a sec and thought this was a funny and oddly apt analogy
