I have no desire to ever return to this honestly, but it was solid enough

I'm just listening for the first time and I see myself coming back a few times.

I need to give this a new listen, but I'm surprised the average has gone down below Resonate/ Desperate. The middle section on Sacrement is god tier fun

They're not even comparible imo, completely different styles.

Didn't like the rest of screamo last all that much. Vi som did a good job, but it's the same sound thousand of bands play with a lot of post rock but with less character.

I preferred more stuff like Frail Body, Cara Neir, Soul Glo or Shin Guard.

I somewhat kinda agree in that it was not as revolutionary as the hype made me believe

I think they're continuing a sound that isn't really that popular or played widely these days, adding on a frost/winter sort of flair to it. Beautiful guitar tones and soundscapes to boot. Genre really needs that considering Suis La Lune bowed out, and they arguably had the smoothest chords in emo.

Oh, it's pretty popular. Bands like Shirokuma, Trachimbrod, Young Mountain, Boneflower, Infant Island Respire, Ojne or Viva Belgrado doing pretty similar things, with the last four doing a way better job imo.

Not to discredit Vi som. They're an incredible live band.
