To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dance Gavin Dance. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of math rock most of the jokes will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Jon's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Weezer literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Dance Gavin Dance truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Jon's existential catchphrase "Meow Meow Boo," which itself is a cryptic reference to Rivers Cuomo's epic Blue Album. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Will Swan's genius wit unfolds itself on their iPods. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Dance Gavin Dance tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Band is nothing more than fine at best which was when Kurt was in the band. All that DGD did was rip-off TFOTs Doppelganger except made it 10x more sugary so that the Rise crowd could get on board with it. Doppelganger wasnt even that good anyways as it was an album that did nothing that Mathy Screamo bands didnt already do better.
This album by far their worst and most stripped back. Mothership was bad but this one goes even worse.
