helvetesfönster is just far richer musically to me and that outro with the acoustics done by mikael akerfeldt is just stunning. i think it sits better structurally in the album too so it hits a lot harder.

i mean you have to go into this album accepting the fact that nothing about it is serious. it's as hammy and corny as it gets and that's honestly its strength. when the corniness goes hand in hand with the excellent songwriting, ghost truly shine. they nailed this record in that regard except for a few missteps.
continuing conversation about gimmicks though i'm of the minority that feels that miasma would have been better without the saxaphone completely though - it's a total mood killer and it's anti-climactic as fuck. i get to that point and wonder how the fuck we got here and up until that point it's pretty pleasant but nothing remarkable.

I didn't know Akerfeldt was on the outro, that's probably my favorite moment on the album. I agree Helvetesfonster is superior to Miasma.
