One was novel and somewhat revolutionary, Altered State was a heavenly game-changer and a 10/10 GOAT. Polaris was strange but still had some killer tracks like Tourniquet and Seven Names, and not much filler.
This on the other hand, I haven't come back to since it released and I haven't missed it since. I've tried a few tracks again and again and I just can't do it.
The recordings of the new track live though have restored my faith.
If you guys haven't heard what Dan sounds like in 2022, SCREAMING, even, check out Chimp Spanner's track Fractured. They're old friends. Dan sounds the best he has EVER sounded on it.

I will die on the hill that Smile and King are better than a large portion of One. Altered State is untouchable, though - they'll never rise above that one as long as Dan is in the band. And I like Dan.

Also, just listened to P O R T A L S and it is maddening that the production there (except on the vocals of course) is just so much better than their last three studio albums... I really hope they record live drums for their next one, and don't overproduce it into infinity...

@Shadow agreed about "King". I'm a huge fan of Sonder though so all of it feels stronger than One. That being said, based on last years EP and the song they premiered in Sweden(?) I think old fans are going to appreciate where they're headed with this next release.
