Regarding the discussion a few pages ago about TDAG's critical acclaim: that album is absolutely not one of the most critically acclaimed albums ever or even of the 2000s. Someone already pointed out the unimpressive Metascore. Also, before joining this site, the only way I heard about musical opinions was from reading professional music critics, and I spent a lot of time looking through best of lists of the 2000s, and I hadn't even heard of the album before joining this site. If it was in those lists, it wasn't in enough to be considered really remarkable.

i can see that if you read it fast or something, which i reckon is 98% of people because let's be honest we all have better shit to do than read my garbage ass Brand New review but i will make this comment explicitly say

time has actually been really kind to just about every BN album, esp TDAG...publications that initially reviewed it as 3 1/2 stars or 7/10 etc have often revisited it and said it is one of the more important releases of its decade

review is fine / i don't know how you could care enough to critique the review haha / like it gives us a thread and some more nuanced deeper reviews will come later for sure... this is Brand New on sputnik we're talking about

the album is fucking fantastic - not sure if a 5 yet but enjoying it immensely at the moment
