Ask Me Nicely is better and it should've been on the album

TalonsofFire: I absolutely agree with your comment. There are too many people who post a comment -either positive or negative- and don`t actually listen to any album they are commenting on or reviewing. To me, To The Bone is a very good album. It`s quite different from their previous prog-oriented albums-which I also enjoy very much, BTW.

Now that you are mentioning Pink Floyd`s The Division Bell, I got some weak spot about it. I feel that it is way overlooked, with the exception of What Do You Want From Me?, A Great Day for Freedom and Take It Back, which were heavily airplayed back in the day. It is still a very good album, even without Roger Waters on board.

I agree, The Division Bell kicks ass. Way better than The Final Cut, that's for sure

Dudes, spun this for the first time yesterday. Wow, I am thoroughly impressed. This is as close to a PT album as we will ever get.

teamster: It could have been a Porcupine Tree album, especially the title track.

SoccerRiot: Exactly...The Division Bell is on much higher level of production, performance and songwriting than The Final Cut, which is in my humble opinion, a weak album.

Back to the subject, To The Bone is Steven Wilson`s most accesible sounding album, considering that he had thrown in some pop elements in the past with Porcupine Tree and Blackfield. I wish that some of today`s pop/rock acts could do something mind blowing or anything great in the way Steven Wilson does with this album. I find some similarities with Tears for Fears, Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel (So and Us-eras).

Even though this has absolutely fuck all substance to it, I mean not one jot it still has more oomph and significance than 99% of other stuff out there at the min.

That someone from the underground whose doing their own thing and has done for Christ knows by being a musician has created ‘chart’ music listened to by the masses.
