That was defiinitely not an amazing video at all, at any point in time. All he did was barely alternate strings save the first note being open E, and basically just dick around with a wah-wah pedal. It's a sad day when that is considered amazing. John Myung does things twice as hard in a regular song not soloing, same with Harris. And Claypool, just owns the shit out of that, listen to basically any Primus song do get what I'm talking, and remember, he also does the vocals.

Nah dude. That was sick what he was doing on his bass there. But as great as Les is (him and Flea are tied in my book for #1), he usually only has one main riff that he plays throughout the whole song, and just variates off it. Granted, those variations are amazing though.

Lets just say we agree to disagree on Cliff Burton. But not on Lars blandness. This Message Edited On 07.15.06

Ok we can disagree, but I can put down a better solo than that on bass any day. This Message Edited On 07.15.06

"Nope, they just all have open E chugging with a few notes put in, but they are really hard to decipher thanks to their love of crap production."

You obviously can't play any of their songs.

"The vocals have and always will suck, James has a crappy voice, and Lars, well lets put it this way. What you get when you don't improve at all and can barely (and half the time can't keep it live) stay in time, you could drum for Metallica, and noone would notice."

Your right about that. I've always wanted to be Tallica's drummer. It would make their music better. james was a good strainer when he was younger though.

I can play some of their songs (guitar), and aside from the classical esque stuff (which I actually rather enjoy) I pretty much I agree with teh inebriated viking. This Message Edited On 07.15.06

now this album isn't that bad. of cousrse there are no solos, and yes most of the songs really suck. and ya the only catchy song is invisible kid. let me start over again. they should put invisible kid on there next album, if there is going to be one, and burn the masters tapes, in this case hard drives, for this monstrosity of a record. P.S. the glue that held my cd in the case let go. i guess the crappynes of the record must have leached in the glue

well metallica is such a popular band and so many people like them that the ones that don't like the band will think they are "overrated by fan boys." Duh, fucking douches like drunken viking and my name is chan, of course you can think of a million even a billion of better musicians than those that are Metallica, because fact is there are greater musicians, and probably there are greater musicians than the ones you named, hell it's all about personal liking. one of you mentioned that all the metallica riffs sounded alike; God what are you tone deaf... Battery's spanish guitar intro that leads into the main intro sounds nothing like the call of ktulu riff that sounds nothing like the riff from hero of the day that sounds nothing like ...And Justice For All which sounds nothing like For Whom the Bell Tolls.

I am a Metallica fan, and I have no problem that you down the band with your opinion but to do so with unrealistic thought is quite lame (for lack of a better word) on your part. I'm not saying "grow up" or "you're wrong for voicing an opinion different from mine" but to just do it with tactless arguements is (once again for lack of that better word) lame

I'm a huge Metallica fan. But those two aren't deuche bags. I might hate DV from time to time cause we disagree...on almost everything. and I ponder mynameischan's sexuality at points (ur mi homie). But when they say stuff like "Metallica sux omfg", they're just messing around. I mean, sure they don't like this band at all, and they back up their reasons. I personally don't think John Lennon was that great of a musician, becauses it's not my style of music. But don't be calling me a f*cking deuche bag for it. Calm down dude, they mean no harm.

On a side note...'Battery' has a spanish tingle to it you say? Eh, I'll have to relisten to it. Doesn't sound like it to me.

"I must say yours is coming along quite nicely as well, but he is right. Metallica does suck, with there riffs all sounding the same, mediocre bass (though hailed by every Metallica fanboy), pathetic drumming, horrible vocals, and that they feel that terrible producing is a must have on every album."

"Finally someone with some sense."

I'm growing tired of you. You don't like Metallica we get it and we respect your opinion. But you don't have to be such an ass. I'm tired of your whole "Metallica sucks and anyone who thinks different is a moron" attitude. You back up your points well and that's fine, but just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they don't have any 'sense'. Aside from the fact that you back up your points you're no better than a common n00b. So, seriously man show some respect for other peoples interests.

I know how to quote, I'm just lazy and I find it faster and more convenient to use quotation marks. Although, they may not look as neat.
