‘not really sure about the whole thing yet but whatever that honky ass instrument is at the end of the remixed Tears of a Nation it fucking ruins...’ (2)
I came here to see what people thought of the remaster. In general it was fine, but yeah that was very noticeably off. I will probably just stick with the original as I can’t remember there being anything majorly off-putting about it.
Excellent album.

Lacks the passion that Aura has. Feels flat...

hey, are the remasters of this and Aura any good?

well for starters, they only exist because Season of Mist uses discog remaster/represses to snatch bands from smaller labels that don't have the money to fight their contracts being torn up (Avantgarde Music, in this case)
continues yelling at cloud
but yeah, they sound good

Autumn Rain oh my fucking lord
Ngl coming back to this for the first time in years and the riffs might be even better than on Aura
Aura has Austin Lunn drumming so uhhh IDK what in atmoblack could ever begin to compete but goddamn the melodies here are so tranquil

"This is my home / my heart / my soul / my hearth"
I just love that imagery -- the hearth as a metaphor for that which you hold dear. Traditionally, it's the center of a home, the first part of the house you build. It brings warmth and light and comfort. My family's farmhouse was built in the 1700s and our wood stove still sits on the original hearthstone, which must weigh a thousand pounds and was repaired with iron braces after being split long ago. You can see where it's been rebuilt around multiple times, generations of families from pioneer settlers to us. A hearth is history, family, and appreciation for tradition.
tl;dr Andy fuckin nailed it

Hearth's are beautiful and honestly there's something pleasant about rustic furnishings, imo i'd love to just revamp my whole apartment to look like a pioneer home but uhhh idk if my landlord would appreciate that lmao. 1700's is nutty, iirc my old home was built in the mid 1800's also as a farmhouse.
