honeysuckle is such a great throwback track

Still forming impressions on this one. Enjoyed it a lot on the first few spins.



It's definitely better than the last two. Killer sucked, and while I enjoyed OP on release, nothing has drawn me back to it in the years that have followed.



Definitely not as good as MM or CI. Not sure yet where I'd put it relative to Ire.



At the end of the day, their core sound has just grown a bit stale to me. Some of the worst parts here are the parts that sound like typical Dillinger. I love that Greg is a lot more aggressive here than the last two.



There are moments where the guitar work adds a lot more character to their formula than we've seen in quite some time (Low Feels Blvd, Honeysuckle, Apologies). The simple melodic break in Nothing to Forget reminded me of what it felt like to be surprised by a DEP album in 2004, and then they pulled off that feat again with the closer which is just absolutely gorgeous.



Probably settle on a 4 for now but we'll have to see if this has the staying power of their early classics or will wear off like their last two efforts.
