Nah, man. Their new stuff is basically just boring rip offs of better 70s prog bands. Not nearly as interesting as their earlier work that mixed in jazz, prog, death metal, etc.

I do agree that their older stuff was better (ofc), and while I find PC boring and unmemorable af, Heritage has a sick atmosphere going on in it.

I actually liked Pale Communion more than most seemed to, didn't rate Heritage very highly (well, 3.5, but that's my lowest Opeth score so far)

Yeah, well I do have this at a 3.5 so I guess I like it more than I'm letting on. It just pains me because they were in my top 5 or 6 bands of all time for well over a decade and the last three albums lowered them to "cool, but nothing amazing", which for Opeth is a HUGE downgrade.

Haxprocess is also pretty good. Lines in my hand has some great bass work
