Jesus the production on this is seriously a muddy mess still

The strong songs on this are amazing , but TGG works better as a cohesive album for me.

This cd is still in my car, so I find myself listening to it whenever I choose to not plug my phone in, still listen to 7 of the tracks so I'd say this album was a huge success for me

When TWY do acoustic live, its cool because Soupy eventually starts yelling during the big parts of the song and gives it a lot of emotion. When he isn't yelling though, they sound super bored and monotone. Unfortunately they sound only like the latter on the recording.

Oof yeah, There There is way worse now. Soupy's much more believable when he's belting than when he's doing the kinda pathetic whine on the acoustic cut.

acoustic reworks suck agreed
yet for some reason acoustic demos are often really good
|
| |
there has never been an above average acoustic cash grab reimagining album by a punk/pop-punk band. prove me wrong.

damnesia isn't awful, and most of the acoustic bonus tracks on agony and addiction are good-great

@satellite not pop-punk so not totally relevant, but Manchester Orchestra's acoustic version of their album "Cope" (called Hope) was far superior to the original album, but yeah, you're right can't think of a single pop-punk example

Toh Kay's Streetlight Lullabies (Acoustic renditions of Streetlight Manifesto songs) is wonderful... but again, not pop-punk.
|
| |
@bubs damnesia was alright, but completely unnecessary. it screams "welp, we have to release something this year."
@feather. interesting. i hated cope and always just assumed hope was a b-sides ep or some shit so i didn't bother w/ it. i'll check it out.
@dinojones yeah that one's pretty good. the botar album ruled too, but that preceded streetlight so it doesn't count.

yeah damnesia was def kind of a cash grab but there were some good versions on there, especially you've got so far to go. plus dans new song on there is great

also it's safe to assume the against me acoustic ep doesn't count

If we count The Classic Crime as punk-pop, their collection of acoustic reworks was actually very good, improved on some of the original songs.
