the album is monotonous but you don't really mind the same way you would, i don't know metalcore, because it's so mild and pretty, sort of floats right past. the crispness of the guitar coupled with the reverb and the cloudiness of sufjan's voice, yeah it's just sort of nice. having said that though, it is still monotonous and too devoid of emotive melodies. like with elliott think of his melodies and the emotion of his voice, it trumps this tenfold. fuckin christian brothers or a song like that man, holy shit.

having said that though, i realize this is a very personal album and for him to crumb on melodies would be missing the point.

also yeah new haitus kaiyote potsy, is so good. the lead girl is also v pretty in real life

I realize that Slow Riot for Zero Kanada is a very personal album so they didn't feel the need to have melodies, vocals or samples that fit in with the rest of the music, or even remotely noteworthy drumming. It's okay though because it is a very personal album for vaguely somebody and hence is the greatest EP ever 5/5

Didn't Sufjan used to be a pretentious band for smart people? Why is trying to be all down to earth and stuff he is clearly terrible at it as he is most likely an autist who argues with strangers on a music review website and doesn't know how to relate to people in a meaningful way. ; )))

it would help if there was a band, but lyrics are just whatever to me and the guittar sound annoying; I suggest you all listen the new Matthew E. White record, I think there's more effort and content there

This album reminds me of almost every half-awkward/half-introvert leading character from the few worthwhile american indie-and/or-teen drama-shows that might have been spawned in the mindlessly naïve hotchpotch we called television in the early-to-mid 00s.
In the best way possible.
