I really like We Were Dead but barely remember anything on this except Coyotes and The Ground Walks

I think this is way more memorable than We Were Dead, but that's just me

We Were Dead has some bangers though. Florida, Invisible, We've Got Everything, among a bunch of good songs.
I don't remember much off of this besides The Ground Walks, Coyotes, Pups to Dust, and Pistol.

The World At Large is pretty f'n good, but yeah I can't entirely disagree with that. Would be in my Top 3 post-M&A for sure

I dunno, We Were Dead just kinda bored me ):

I feel ya Sandwhich, the production doesn't really let the songs stand out that much. Definitely sounds all nice and proper, which isn't a usual Modest Mouse attribute.
And hey, contrary to Sputbelief, people are indeed allowed to have different opinions, so no worries! Lol

Your sleazy salesman avatar's presenting your comment so well, so I'll take it and the '96 Honda Civic

Pups to Dust, The Ground Walks, and a few other tracks here are all top-tier MM imo.

Whole album is pretty good. Lampshades on Fire, Coyotes, Pups to Dust, Wicked Campaign, The Tortoise and the Tourist are all fantastic MM songs.

Yeah I especially dig Pups to Rust. Not so keen on Wicked Campain though. Tortoise is a mediocre verson of whale song imo

That's the main problem with this album. Almost every track is an inferior version of a better song.
|

i think mm are doomed to continue this vague declining slump for the remainder of their existence but it's okay because they gave us the first four lps and that's all i can hope to ask for
