nothing about this really moves me. Exoplanet still the GOAT Contortionist album imo.

I think I prefer this now, Exoplanet still rules tho ofc

It's been out for a year on the 16th. Crazy. I remember getting it the moment it came out. Still my favorite album from last year.

Language I: Intuition is indeed beautiful, Thrive and Primordial Sound is a fantastic centerpiece. The last two tracks are great too. Hopefully their next release is as masterful as many of this is.

Just listened to it and I'm bored to death. Hard to believe these guys released Exoplanet.
They just kind of went for mellow prog metal world and abandoned all of the qualities that got them recognized in the first place.
Vocalist is the only thing keeping this better than Intrinsic.

The vocals are like the least interesting part of this though. The melodies and guitar tones are what keep this flowing nicely.

I couldn't groove with this for a long time, but within the past year I've come to enjoy it more than Exoplanet.
Also just pre-ordered limited edition vinyl and I'm pretty stoked for it.

Exoplanet is far more interesting. This doesn't have much going for it and just forgets the sound Exoplanet had.

I think this is just a touch better than exoplanet in that I enjoyed it a bit more as its really hard to compare the two. This is much different. But a lot cleaner and more airy.

On paper this is better but those moments on Exoplanet fucking HIT nahmsayin
Like this is pretty cool start-to-finish, and Exo might have its lazy spots but the highlights kill anything on here

To me the first half of this album is one of the best album openings ever. I love the whole album, but if this ended with some more aggression this would be a 5/5.
As for Exoplanet, the two albums are so different I can't even compare them. I give all their albums a 4.5/5 though.

Pretty bland progressive metal, but it's the sort of stuff people go crazy over. Exoplanet combined heaviness with beautiful melodies and progressive elements, while Language really only banks in on more progressive influence. The melodies aren't nearly as engaging and the heaviness is completely forgotten.

no one's "going crazy" over this scene prog core anymore in 2016
