FearThyEvil it’s fine if you like it but I just think this album is the most average shit on the planet

Fair enough, I just enjoy it and it's very nostalgic for me. One of those bands that really did help me branch out as they were a good gateway band for me.

It's fine if you think this is average, but it's got the most/best hooks of anything written this century. Say what you want about Linkin Park, but those guys knew how to write an incredible chorus or 8 back in the day. It's too bad they never really grew as a band.

Yup, love it too, but I can also see why others would dislike them with a passion. If they're not nostalgic for you, the music is just catchy and very straightforward and radiofriendly. Not everyone's cup of tea.

„it's got the most/best hooks of anything written this century.”
Lol.
For sure they have a lot of catchy and thus iconic hooks but catchy doesn’t necessarily mean good. I could bring up tens/hundreds of bands that are the most mediocre shit ever but still manage to write a decently catchy hook now and then.
I mean, these guys are just so boring and average, it’s even worse than if they were just plain shit. Their lyrics are so basic, melodramatic and cringy (especially Chester’s), song structuring is basically the same in every song. „Vocalists” are mediocre to the core, with Mike’s rapping being just okay and Chester’s singing ranging from being shitty for the most part to bearable/good sometimes. I just can’t see the appeal in his voice whatsoever, he either sounds fake when singing clearly or screams like a cat that got it’s tail stept (or „stepped”? Shit, I don’t know) on.
The only thing this band has going for them is the production and instrumentation (seriously it’s great and it’s the best part of their music) and the hordes of fans consisiting of either angsty teenagers now/then that can relate to this type of music (and probably discovered this band as one of their first) or middle-aged people that loved them back in the day and today are just too overly sentimental and nostalgic to see all the flaws that this band has/had.

Ha ha, middle aged! Sure as hell hope not!
I do definitely see the flaws Zeuzo, but it has so much nostalgia to me and I still spin it now and then and enjoy it from a to z. And I love Chester's voice on their earlier records!
Opinions, opinions...

What are you listening to from this century then? They've got some of the most iconic choruses but they, unfortunately, don't keep it up for every song.

It really falls off for me after In the End.

I can understand that, this album opens real strong. Not got love for Pushing Me Away? I think that's one of the standouts on the album, an excellent closer

I like it in theory but I find the chorus really contrived.

Album is a hard 5. Although I always thought Pushing Me Away was the weakest track. The Reanimation version, however, is beyond godly.

Hell yeah it is! And Amon Amarth have also been very successful in writing incredibly catchy yet aggressive music.
