It's definitely a little better than Blank Planet, that album is well put together but so so so cringe lol

as cringe as the lyrics may be at times, and other than some of the misplaced metal parts in certain songs, that album is perfect modern prog in a nutshell

Oh yeah FOABP is still perfection, I prefer it to this. I think its cringeness gets overblown a bit too

Fear IS better than this so I'm kind of surprised the collective opinion has changed here. This album always got shit on, for years no one was happy with it. I'm glad people have finally come around a bit

The lyrics of FOABP are like if The Catcher in the Rye were an album. I hate The Catcher in the Rye

(2) Listened to it this weekend and the vibes are unmatched
To hop on my nerd soapbox a bit, I was always bothered by two things about this album - the "concept album" portion not having a particularly satisfying climax, and the disjointed "disc 2" tacked onto the end. I came up with a tracklist sequence that kinda combines the two and makes for a more "complete" listen, without interrupting the flow too much. The nice thing is you also get two equal halves, with the first half being a bit brighter, and the second half a bit darker:
"Disc" 1 (~36:45):
1. Occam's Razor
2. The Blind House
3. Great Expectations
4. Kneel and Disconnect
5. Drawing The Line
6. The Incident
7. Your Unpleasant Family
8. Yellow Windows
9. Time Flies
"Disc" 2: (~36:30)
10. Degree Zero of Liberty
11. Black Dahlia
12. Bonnie the Cat
13. Octane Twisted
14. The Seance
15. Circle of Manias
16. Remember Me Lover
17. I Drive The Hearse
Unfortunately I couldn't really find a good place to put Flicker, even though I enjoy it quite a bit. I still wanted the second half to have a kinda "concept album-y" flow and putting it in there would break it up too much (inserting it in the first half is out of the question!)

Closing on I Drive The Hearse is nice.
Album is unjustly overlooked
