dude a 2.0 is kinda generous considering that i find few albums more droll and torturous to listen to than the entire second side of this thing. (the first 3 songs are still pretty sweet tho)

What is really sad and tortuous is to read your comment. This is simply one of the best albums ever, in any kind of music.
Probably is better you stay away of Genesis, man.

Yeah, except for More Fool Me, album is pretty much perfect, and it's a classic album. I don't know how you Archael ended up listening to Genesis, but according to your pie chart, there is no trace of prog rock at all. And like you said, e21, I would stay away from Genesis. Archael, you just don't have an ear for that kind of music.

He might like The Lamb though.
I can see why this might be quite grating for someone who dislikes many of the characteristics of classic prog but The Lamb isn't anywhere near as typical of prog as this album is.

@ Jethro.
Agree, man. More Fool Me is its achilles heel, indeed.
@JamieTwort.
"I can see why this might be quite grating for someone who dislikes many of the characteristics of classic prog".
I can see what you mean, but I disagree. Don't you forget that The Lamb is a conceptual album. As you know, conceptual albums are one of the main things of prog. So, I think it's better he stay out of Genesis. As Jethro said, probably Archael just don't have an ear for that kind of music.

I was talking musically, although I don't think an album having a lyrical concept would be all that off putting for anyone regardless of their views on prog.
In fact I'd say that despite not being a concept album as such, this album, along with the two previous albums, is more typical of prog in terms of its actual lyrical content than The Lamb is.

^agreed hard
although i'd say selling england is a concept album

Really? The final three tracks are my favorite part of the album.

jamie dude all you ever comment about is the lamb its like you dont even dig this anymore i'm upset
|

Nah dude I still dig this, especially the 3 obvious highlights. It's just that sometimes the passion for a certain album overwhelms everything else, you know how it is.

I don't believe Archael would appreciate The Lamb more than this one except maybe for the t/t, Back in N.Y.C. and The Carpet Crawlers. If I was him, I'd start with these 3 songs and I bet he won't even dig them.

I remember being in 6th grade and my teacher had asked our class to give some examples of hyperboles. I used this album title as my example. As a 6th grader. Anyway, great great record.
