This is very "artsy" while Heroes is catchy/dancy

before and after science is not even close to this though (it's not even better than "heroes") - imo proof enough eno wasn't the real creator here, as some like to think

I haven't heard any of the albums you're referring to, but that's not sound logic. Just because Eno's own work isn't as good as this doesn't mean he wasn't the driving creative force here. However I obviously have no say in the matter myself (though I'm inclined to believe that Bowie probably was the creative force, as you say).

You're obviously entitled to your opinion that just not really a good reason for it.

Eno is a god, I would take Green World over any Bowie album honestly, as much as I love Bowie.

i agree that in principle you could explain low being better than before and after science as eno simply having "a worse time" when making the last one (instead of bowie being superior then), but it just seems far less likely to me, especially if you look at the mood of low - which is one of the best things about it - serious, decadent. eno has never recorded anything in this vein, as far as I know. even if some of the arrangements on low are his (and they definitely are) they are secondary to the compositions which sound to me like bowie's work - and they probably are, since low is pretty close style-wise to iggy pop's the idiot, produced and co-composed by bowie, on which eno didn't even appear.

Side A is more Bowie, Side B is more Eno. I guess Bowie was the main songwriter, but Eno made most of the arrangements for him.

I'm confused, what does Before and After Science have to do with anything

nah adr your ratings are fine. but you wrote "Eno is the man" in this thread so i thought you suggested this album is de facto eno's - a statement i disagree with.

btw before and after science has godly second side but the first one is so cheesy it's not funny. overall though eno >>>>> bowie
