Phew, this one has a very strong 5-esque character, doesn't it?

Album Rating: 4.5
Certainly does, in fact it may have one of the 5-iest. Incomparable.

Bumping this boi down, has its moments but also more ham than I remembered. Ný batterí / Hjartað hamast / Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása is an extraordinary run and keeps it from dropping any lower

Only heard Takk and the one with all the asses on the cover, should check this out

This, ( ) and Kveikur represent their collective pinnacle for me, so I’m very jealous you’re yet to experience all that. Everything bar Von and a couple of EPs/experiments is essential.
And nooooo Johnny, I despaired. Fortunately still a 4.5/5, I suppose.

Takk is in their top 3, but Kveikur is also excellent and like fourth best. Would be nice to get a follow-up.

Takk.. has also become my favorite over the years. You can't go wrong with this band though. Even Med Sud is an album I find grossly underrated by many.

Med Sud is kinda inconsistent for them but still great. Takk is my second favorite after ( ), tracks 3-8 in particular are amazing.

Takk > ( ) > this, imo.

I find the icy soundscapes on ( ) to be the peak of their atmosphere and emotional resonance, but Takk is my go-to and probably most listened to Sigur Ros.

The production on this one is perfect though. One of the best I've heard. Has that incredible warm sound.

This is much more introspective... more "alien" than 'Takk...'. I love both though.
|
| |
I don't really find it introspective but honestly I can't understand a word this guy says he needs to enunciate

Jonsi sings in both Icelandic and an unrecognised language he made up. It’s unsurprisingly difficult to decipher for most listeners, although from what I understand of Sigur Ros’ lyrics, you’re best off not looking into any translations. I find it spoils the mystique.

he literally doesnt need to enunciate and half the lyrics r in a made-up language
