The album's lofi sound is fine, simply because the ripping/transcendental effect of the music is not compromised in any way.
On another note, I recently listened to Blizzard Beasts from Immortal, a Nordic lofi homage to Morbid Angel that was fair in its own right, and I couldn't help wondering whether Azagthoth was inspired from that album, for the sound work herein.
Chronologically, the two releases are not far apart.

I just wouldn't listen to it immediately after something sounding heavy and beefy because it may ruin the perception of the album. It also requires bumping up the volume, a lot.

Sound is definitely weak, but most of the songs are amazing. Steve tucker is a beast... vastly underrated most likely due to sound and weird album structure with all those interludes.
