i feel like this album had a lot of influence on the xx.
i see what you mean, they both have a very sensual tradeoff between male and female vocals, and both have sort of a dreamy quality to them. but obviously the xx is very subtle and minimal, creating a darker atmosphere, while this is huge, noisy, and beautiful.
my favorite track on this is probably come in alone, my god those guitars are orgasmic

My favorites are the run on buzzsaw guitars in the middle, when you sleep, i only said and come in alone. Add the two bookends and you got my top 5.
I guess i could see a little bit of shoegaze in the xx, andy. i see more joy division and massive attack in them though.
