Oh, I actually thought I read somewhere that you liked Larks a lot. Larks has grown off me somewhat over time and probably isn't in my top 4 KC albums

I don't like it, I loved it. It just didn't strike me as hard as, let's just say, "Court", "Red", or even this one.

The album is so respected that the guy who made the artwork for dir en grey's uroboros was influenced by this artwork.

would pretty much put Court and Wake evenly but as long as you don't talk shit about Red and Islands (the dark horse, esp. if you listen to the Steven Wilson remaster) you're golden

should add holy shit the Wilson remasters are the essential versions dude (especially with the 70s albums, which were pretty weak in terms of production)

I download the original versions of the albums and I can't hear anything even if I download it in FLAC. it's pretty frustrating. KC is a great band but choosing mixers THEY SUCKED

well they usually produced their albums themselves and had no money to afford any of the higher end studios until Starless and Bible Black/Red, which had the best production out of any of the KC albums at the time. The sound of the early King Crimson albums were moreso a product of the studios themselves not being state-of-the-art.

Also pay attention to what version you download because the 80s/90s King Crimson CDs are notorious for sounding god awful.

If I have versions with bonus tracks and extended versions of songs, then those are the remastered best copies I'm assuming

I want to clarify that I download them from torrent, since I'm living in a 3rd word country

Strangely, in most record shops, you can find the whole discography of pink floyd, yes and genesis, but none of king crimson...sad

correct

if you got the "40th anniversary" editions, those are the Wilson remasters

the ones in general to avoid are the E'G Definitive Editions that were around in the late 80s.

I'd say it's the same here in America, but aside from Court and Wake (which both made the top 5 on the charts), Crimson is getting harder and harder to come across.

It's too bad that their CDs are hard to come across, cause Fripp has made it nigh impossible to listen to their music legally online at all.

except several of them are for sale through the band's distributor and used copies are pretty abundant on discogs, ebay and amazon

it's really not that hard

That was a joke but besides that me and rodrigo's point was that they're not easy to find in record stores
