For the love of god, never the remaster. They completely ruined the incredible guitar tone with that one.

The remaster of the debut is dope
But yeah, for this one, get the original

It isn't. It's better.

If it turns out it's not this is why I have trust issues.

I love the new one, but Core occupies another stratosphere of quality. Only Amia Venera Landscape have made a better album in my experience.

I got through the first song, which was fantastic tho not sure I like it more than their newest material, and then I fell asleep lol.

Y'all toss around wank so often that I think you completely forgot what the heck it even means.
The songwriting and flow on this album is insane. Listen to new First Fragment and learn the distinction.

Wouldn't call the guitarwork on here wank, there's too much purpose to it for it to be wank.

Complexity and wank are often confused with one another, when really they're two different things: complexity is rewarding and is structured (if only by a string in extreme cases, i.e. TDEP), whereas wank is shallow technicality with little purpose beyond showing off.
You can look and sound good without becoming wank. This album is a terrific example.

I think (and hope) Tundra was being ironic, because there is literally 0 wank to be found here

The solos here go on for a very long time lol, I like it all, but it definitely reaches wank territory in some areas

'The songwriting and flow on this album is insane. Listen to new First Fragment and learn the distinction'
Whilst I agree with your general stance, FF is a poor counterpoint because those guys actually have purposeful song-writing too. Yeah it's maybe 'flashier' than most and crazy technical, but I do believe they have a clear direction in what they're trying to achieve.
Absolutely agreed on this album and the complete overuse of the term 'wank' in general though.
And yes, always go with the original production for this one.
