Interview was hilarious.I loved when that chick was liek "you should do a song about pugs" also all the various chapters to the book he referenced to was great also.

"people in metal bands have mental instability? OK."

Yeah bro that's kind of why I phrased it in a way where its clear I realized my bias was unfounded.

"to release albums as aggressive as they have"

Also, I really wouldn't say metal bands in general "release albums as aggressive as they have". However to release an album with the aggression that CI had, the band members are clearly gonna have some pent up aggression they were releasing, and that might might make a person "a little off". I know it was just Ben but I feel like Greg performs the songs just as passionately.

Yeah, I saw that interview a few days ago and was like wtf is DEP doing on Fox news? Its pretty awesome, but Fox doesn't seem like the type of network that would endorse this band haha.

it's all about the dollars

4.4 user rating is pretty much fucking impressive.

This year's Axe to Fall no doubt.

Way better than Axe to Fall but I'm still resisting bumping this for as long as possible

I agree, I like this a good bit better than Axe, but I meant in terms of hype and overwhelmingly positive reaction.

Bump already man, you know its 4.5!

I feel like I'll be getting swept away with the hype if I rate this a 4.5 but the more I listen the more I feel like it really is that good.

I didn't wanna move it from a 4 either, but every time I get to the end I want to listen to it again. I think by the time Widower is over, the rest of the songs could almost suck and this would still be great. But then I Wouldn't If You Didn't and Parasitic Twins at the end just give this such a strong conclusion... Idk, I just think it deserves the ratings its getting now.

I definitely think this is better than AtF, but leaving for a road trip this morning this will surely get a lot of plays, we'll see if it can become a 4.5 by the time I'm back. It probably will.

solid 4.75 so I rounded up.

CI has the "omg, out of nowhere - way ahead of its times" thing, but OP has that "for all you fucks that thought we were falling off - eat a dick" attitude.

I like this much better than Axe To Fall. Well, a decent amount at least. But then again I generally prefer DEP to Converge, although it's close. I don't know that it will ever move to a 5 for me, but it's a definite possibility.

Probably will never be a 5 for me, since I hate giving those out, but this is the definition of a superb album for me.

Word son. I don't give out many 5's either, it pretty much has to be a perfect album and have some sort of connection to me personally for it to be 5'd. It would take quite awhile. I think the quickest I've ever given one was TDAGARIM, and that took like 3 months.

I only have three. I just 5'd Jane Doe like a month ago but I held out for really long because I wanted to be sure it would last. I think an album really shouldn't be considered classic until it has proven itself to have a lasting legacy. Otherwise it can't be called "classic" no matter how good it is.
