I haven't listened to much depressive black metal in particular, so I can't compare instrumentals. However, I think that for this album is looking to achieve, the instrumentals here exceed with all the blackest colors in the color spectrum. This atmosphere is damn near perfect.
And of course, the vocals and lyrics that accompany them are soul piercing from their simplestic raw delivery. This has been an experience.

Superb album!
€ Just found a great youtube channel called “TheSuffocater”. The guitarist show the difference and similarities between Melo Black Metal & Depressive Black Metal. Playing parts of this album vs “Woods Of Desolation” ( and many other duo of these genre, many good band not in the DB) Pretty good guitarist, interesting concept, very informative use of YouTube segment with titles. €

I really tried to get into this, but unfortunately the vocals just ruin the whole thing for me. I'll keep trying and see if they grow on me over time, but I just think they sound really comical and over-the-top. It's a shame, because I enjoy the music itself
