From an objective standpoint? Well, i'd rather 4.5 it and come out open saying i like it a lot than
being pretentious and devalue my own "nature" or well, taste, just to fit in.
I already stated that i do understand that this band is nowhere near perfection. I rate my albums
according to my personal perception of them, not just from a "professional standpoint".
People do have different tastes. Take it as it is.

Yeah lol. I also have the Of Mice & Men self titled album at a 4.5. Is it objective?? Hell no. I just love it. It was made part of my life back when it came out 3 years ago. I love it. I won't be saying they're the absolute kings/innovators of Post Hardcore (even though i find them to be pretty good), but to me their first album plays amazing in every way. Absolutely love it. It's not like i listen to it often nowadays, at all, but it stands high in my consideration.

I heard nu metal and metalcore at the same time cuz i get into rock in the mid 00's. Old times, I miss them, my favorite bands in that time were Linkin park, all that remains, killswitch engage, korn, SOAD, Underoath, sevendust, avenged sevenfold, slikpnot, disturbed, as I lay dying, trivium, deftones, august burns red, otep, mudvayne and shadows fall. In that time I never got into deathcore and bands like ETF, Aiden, Alesana and more were impossible to tolerate. I still have some love for those nu metal and metalcore groups but now my tastes are different.
