Fuk that this is m/ give em credit. These guys definitely made their mark in the metal genre. They were a gateway band for a lot of kids to get into heavier music. Not for me because I started listening to metal long before they came out but they did widen the audience in the metal genre.

This was my first Slipknot album actually
Actually that isn't completely accurate. I was listening to them for a while before but this is the
album that really got me into them. S/T has since become my favourite though

Volume 3 is their best for my money

That album suffers from terrible production though. The percussion and guitars just sound so hollow

^that's probably what makes it their weakest album (still love it though)

I forget which one it was, but I remember one of the Slipknot guys saying that whoever it was that produced this album wasn't able to accurately capture Slipknot properly. That is to say, that he couldn't make it sound like 9 guys in a room making music. I agree, but I think the sentiment should also extend to Vol. 3 as well. As much as I detest Ross Robinson I have to admit he's truly vital to Slipknot and their sound
