I never dug Moonsorrow as much as the aforementioned bands. Bathory is obviously the king when it comes to epic viking metal.

I could maybe understand Moonsorrow and Bathory but Equilibrium don't really seem to fit in this equation even though they are viking/folk/heathen/whatever metal

I mean, who do you even really compare these guys too? That's why I lump them in with "Epic Viking Metal" because those have the closest style to Equilibrium when it comes to song structures and ideas.
