Agreed with Storm. If the band added a little more diversity to their music and songwriting while still keeping the synthetic space-rock vibe, it would be an easy 5 for me. I always scratched my head on how ABL broke them into the mainstream and not this. Because this album came out at a time when people were getting tired of the same old sappy alt. rock that was ruling the airwaves. This album felt more unique in both it’s musical style and lyrics. Not a perfect record by any stretch but it could’ve been a masterpiece if they’d added a couple new elements to tweak it a bit. And the singles sound like they could’ve become mega hits on rock radio.
