Heat Death is their only more intense album tbh, the other two strike me more like a good math rock albums. They lack emotion imo idk.

"This is much more passionate" thats what im saying once u actually look beyond the whole "this is TRUE RAW EMOTIONZ -_" thing u realize this is pretty bad

im a poser im saying that while listening to the new loma album
|
| |
Most screamo is pretty bad musically but that doesn't mean it's bad (Stupid wording but that's as good as I can put it plus im sure u kno what i mean), it doesn't really matter how much talent went into something if it sounds good or ~~moves you emotionally~~ or whatever then it's good music

i feel like i got to a point with how my taste progressed where i need some semblance of intention/understanding on behalf of the artist or however you want to put it to be able to really enjoy most music. like even with super messy simplistic lo fi music i still need something more there to be able to enjoy it. pavements really old material is probably on par with this (maybe a little bit above) in terms of how talented the band is at their instruments but in that case u can tell they're actually really thinking out how they're structuring their songs and they manage to come up with some really nice stuff.
with a lot of this it just seems like a bunch of kids that just learned to play the guitar and threw together the first few riffs they came up with and played it really messily cause they wanted it to seem raw and emotional. it achieves that purpose well, but its very surface level within the whole realm of music and once i got to the point where i couldn't get into stuff that doesn't have much going on beyond being emotional this lost almost all its appeal (as did a lot of skramz).
|
| |
yeah i don't think that's actually right at all but i haven't listened to this in probably years so you might not be wrong but i think you're wrong tbh
