It's a pretty unique and awesome voice that's for sure. :D

the fully fleshed-out orchestra arrangements in the second half add a bunch to the replay value.

Was listening to this again a few days ago, so good. People seem to like this more over Epica (the album), but to me they are equally amazing.
Also, March of Mephisto m////

This band might be more generic than Conception, but for some reason I still prefer Fourth Legacy up until this.
Maybe because it's just catchier?

It's about the same average as other highly-regarded power metal albums like Keeper Part 1, Nightfall in Middle-Earth/Imaginations from the Other Side, Land of the Free/Somewhere Out in Space etc. It really is a good average, it could be much worse.

I just thought this band was bad for some reason

This album fell off for me for some reason, and I guess it is because the heavy focus on vocal melodies made them forget to write memorable riffs. I now think Epica is a much better album

some really infectious vocal lines on this one and generally really tightly arranged. i think the haunting and nothing ever dies are a bit weaker than everything else but the rest is rock solid

Epica was amazing, but this one punched a little bit harder and more consistently. Title track slays so hard
