I have that the other way around, I find Imperial Triumphant much harder to get into than DsO

The Work Which Transforms God has a lot of proto-DsO dissonance going on, but yeah their aesthetic is very different. The comparison still makes sense to me even if you could argue the genre was already trending in that direction.
