The instrumental part on Gates can be a bit chaotic in a good way, but CTTE is a 18 minute song you could say every note and sound effect belongs...yes, even the intro.

The intro is the best part of CTTE actually, Anderson and his screams rule there

the climax towards the end of the song is clearly the best part

Is it just me or have you noticed that there is a little similitude in both tracks (or they kinda complete each others). At 14:12 in CttE and the climax of Gates at 8:03. Both sequences are a very good ride.

I slightly prefer CttE over Gates cos there are more varieties and it gets me somewhere else everytime. Gates is more linear (save for the climax I'm talking about), but it's beautiful and energetic. ''Soon'' is gorgeous as well. Both songs are top 3 Yes songs.

"The intro is the best part of CTTE actually, Anderson and his screams rule there"

Intro is easily the worst part. Rest of the song is gold and by far the best thing Yes ever did for me.
