man clientele is good but i feel like theres this sort of hive-mind effect; sometimes hes just spitting random shit and people praise it as genius whereas a lot of other rappers will do the same shit and people will be like wtf thats dumb

I can see that point. I like the mix of story-telling/mafioso rap with the battle tip that he's on with Clientele, plus it was my first Ghostface record back in the day. Beats are dirtier, etc.
I do like the whole theme/concept with Fishscale though, and the production's super slick
