At least with NYC Ghosts & Flowers they tried doing something different. Really, Psychic Hearts is like EJS, but ten times better.

Kim does play guitar on "Bone" and "Quest for the Cup", though; However, it's tuned to an open B, making it sound pretty bass-y.
Underrated, really. An interesting, concise, balanced album. I can see why it's dissed, though: It is fairly scattered and not as daring or memorable as most other Sonic Youth LPs, probably due to Kim's pregnancy throwing everyone for a loop.
