This album is too damn awesome, one of my favorite Death Metal albums ever. World of ****, Angel Of Disease and God of Emptiness are awesomeness in it's purest form, IMO. IMO.

This, Altars, and Blessed are great but if you don't have Domination your nothing.

Yep, last time I checked this had sold 227, 000 copies and that’s in the U.S alone.

And I must say that these guys are much more deserving of this tiny bit of mainstream success than their peers in Cannibal Corpse.

Everything works here. Guttural vocals of the highest caliber, brutal yet highly addictive riffs, sick guitar solos as usual from Trey topped off with the amazing drumming of Pete Sandoval, one of the best in the business.

Pretty much every song is distinctive from the last one and is memorable in it’s own right but my absolute favourites are ‘Rapture’, ‘Lion’s Den’, ‘Angel of Disease’ and of course the almighty ‘God of Emptiness.’

Is this as evil as the legendary Altars?? No probably not but it’s still one of the greatest dm releases of all time.

And I agree, MA did have their moments after the first 4 but it was never quite the same thing again.

This is like the most evil death metal album ever. Altars is evil, but this is in a completely different league.

I might raise it to a 4.5 after another listen, I just prefer Altars and Blessed to this at the moment.

From what I've heard Gateways To Annihilation is really good too

I prefer thsi slightly over Blessed because the production on this is pretty much perfect, and the ambient tracks on Blessed really ruin the flow of the album

My favorite MA album. Good review. I agree about "Angel of Disease". It just doesn't seem to fit. Otherwise killer album.

Rapture and The Lions Den are some of my most favorite metal songs ever. I like this Morbid Angel CD the most out of AoM, BatS, Covenant, & Domination. I'm more of a thrash metal man, but I like this death metal CD.

I forgot how much I love this album. Still one of my favourites from the Florida dm scene.
