Great review, it appears that Wolfe made all her past ventures work in a single release.

It’s honestly incredible how she’s been able to fit so many different styles onto one record without it coming across as forced or pandering.

the whole album sounds like "the essence of CW: listener-friendly version"
I found it a bit underwhelming on first listen, but it is growing on me, bumped my rating

That's how I felt about She Reaches Out... as well although she's obviously changed which of her influences she drawing from more prominently on this one. It's something I like about both albums although I prefered the darker tone of the last one

The knocks on birth of violence are laughable to me. It’s another exquisite piece of music.

Yeah it’s genuinely absurd. Not everyone has to love acoustic Chelsea and that’s fine, but she 100% nails what she was going for there. The dark autumn atmosphere on that record is pretty much unparalleled. As much as I love the new album and She Reaches, I think Mother Road is the best song she’s written this decade
