Blows my mind Volition is my personal favorite and Fortress is also a 5/5 but insanely overrated in the way that people think all Mario's should be like mario 64 or all Zelda should be like OoT

Feels like a very well done blend of their earlier labyrinth-like prog compositions and later conventional sing-along-able style.

This album took like 5 listens through for it to fully click but now I'm obsessed. It's so rich and majestic. Probably their most "colorful" album and I think I like it even more than Plimpy

Landed here directly from Kezia back in the days. Since when they become this cheesy?

pretty sure right after kezia (fortress) is when they leaned hard into the cheese lol. i love this though and going by their instagram comments this is almost 100% going to be part of a double album

Probably when their bassist/lyricist left and the lead singer, Rody, took over writing lyrics. So around Scurrilous.

it blows my mind that fans of Kezia and Fortress that are coming back are surprised by the cheese.
like, musically, theyve ALWAYS been wacky but if we're talking cheese specifically, did yall not any of their old music vids

The Mariner > Grandfather's Axe > Fishhook > Liberty Spike > Mouthpiece > The Orchard atm
top 2 are both at least top 10 level protest, what an album

The cheese began with Fortress and never let up.

Not even into Fortress cause I don't know it. Relistened Kezia and it rules af. No vibratos and no tongue in cheek blink 182

All metal is cheesy tbh if not then its corny for trying to be "hard" or "brutal" or "deep"

Also kezia (and fortress to a lesser extent) were very much products of their time and it sucks because the people who liked those metal movements vs the band itself have always slagged them for doing it different

I've listened through this a few times and I have to say this is worthy of the same acclaim their first two albums garner.
