Hate how hollow these guitars sound.

I knew this would be divisive but I'm surprised it's at a 3.6

Album good. Comparing it to TAS or Converge (both awesome) is certainly a choice considering they're not trying to be anything like either of those bands.
Reeks a bit of "muh leetism" ngl.
Boundaries have basically made a discography on "what if Misery Signals but ignorant and angry" and they nail it every time. Fine to not like them, kinda sus to post about how they're not as good as your "real hxc fan" demos like that was ever the goal.

Metalcore is broad as hell though now, and some people don't like the dumb knuckle dragging stuff when it's belabored so I can empathize

I loved their last album, and I'm 7 songs deep and this is pretty boring. But many have said the back half is better so tbd

I get not liking it like I said. Not every album us for everyone. Just some of the criticism I'm seeing reminds me of the Ultimate Guitar forums circa 2007 where people would whine about how The Acacia Strain (ironically) weren't tr00 enough to be considered good. and yeah back half is better. Personally think it starts picking up around track 3/4.

I think my comments are being taken out of context

Surprised how decisive this is. I really thought this was gonna be a hit with the community. I enjoy the brute heaviness and breakdowns that hit like a ton of bricks though.

Really? They went insanely hard when I saw them so that surprises me

it was more their personalities than the performance (though I think heavensgate did what they do better)
every other word is "fuck" and every two seconds the guitarist is yelling at the crowd to do something "get the fuck up" "you better fucking move" "fuck you don't stand still" "this next song, everyone's a fucking victim" (that one made me and my buddy lol) then ABR come on and burn the place down while being boy scouts. whole thing was just so forcibly edgy

what the heck is this production

Ahh I gotcha Em, yeah the tuff guy stage presence doesn't really do it for me anymore either lol.
There was definitely a lot of f bombs dropped when I saw them but man it was probably top three rowdiest shows I've ever been to. These guys and Orthodox are dangerous live

Production definitely knocks this down a point for me. Weirdly enough it hits like a truck in the whip but sounds painfully thin through my phone speakers. Just a weird mix overall, they need to go back to Randy LeBoeuf for the next one.
