As for the album they litterally almost trimmed everything that made their sound fun in the first place.. just boring

If you can enjoy the music without the connotations and actions of the artist go for it, all the power to you. Some folks cant seperate the two or have trouble doing so depending on the actions of said artist. Both are perfectly okay.

The issue is when you try to defend the alleged actions of said artist or minamize the severity of the issue.

I used to love Dealer's EPs (Saint and Soul Burn) until Aidan Holmes' bullshit (and even at that point I was aware of the shit that had gotten him kicked from Alpha Wolf). But then it was like my distaste for him seeped into my opinion of the music. It wasn't like I felt an ick listening to them, it was like I was in a They Live moment and just realized their music was a veneer and nothing this guy sung about seemed sincere anymore.

I used to like R. Kelly. Can't lie, I'm glad I saw him before he was truly cancelled

Ignition is one of the best songs of all time.

This band's sound reminds me a lot of Beneath the Sky both in the vocals and the riffs

Beneath the Sky is an interesting comparison. I thought the vocals reminded me more of Plagues and With Roots Above...-era TDWP. Admittedly they all have a vocal style that is reminiscent of that era of metalcore. Also, The Day the Music Died is a fucking bop of an album.

I miss the high screams, man. You just don't hear them anymore.

It's the high screams mixed with the friction or scratchiness for me. It seems the high screams have migrated over to hardcore/post-hardcore and everything in modern metalcore is about getting everything has low and bass-y as possible. I also wonder if part of that has to do with how much more training these vocalists do compared to 15-20 years ago. It's like the sharp corners have sort of been edged over time.
