"One of the underexamined consequences of aging is that it completely warps your perception of time. Most of us can recall how summer seemed to last forever as a child, but as an adult the calendar pages all blur together. Hell, it’s been eight whole years since I relished Can’t Wake Up’s eerie, starlit atmosphere, yet the moment that ‘Counting Sheep’ first gave me chills still feels like it was only a couple months ago."

Can't Wake Up was my summer 2020 jam. It does all blur together, and 2020 both feels like it just happened and like it was forever ago the same time.

The way time changes as you get older is scary. Really makes you realize how little time you have.

Guess I gotta check this out. Really I need to check out more of his stuff in general, because I absolutely fell in love with his song "Pay the Road" last summer. Was going through maybe the worst few months of my life and that song brought me so much comfort and joy.

For real, I'm feeling the pressure, I feel like time is running out and I need to stop fucking around and start completing some goals I have. Or sometimes when I go back to old albums I liked, I wonder how many more times I'm going to hear it. Once? Twice? Or maybe this is the last one. It really makes life feel very brief, it's a little claustrophobic.

I feel like I went through that pressure aged about 39 to 44...this was also the stress of having difficulties starting a family...and then the early days of parenthood.

This manifested here with my crazy intensity in visiting and posting on the site, and feeling I had to cram in as much music exploration and listening as possible.

I am happy to report that at 47 years of age that stage has totally passed - the passage of time and my music listening have settled down.

The ticking clock has ended. I feel semi retired in spirit! The days stretch out leisurely.....

Don't Change a Thing is slowly growing into perhaps my favorite song here along with Boilermaker

Love how rustic and faded this whole thing sounds

You've come around to that one more and more!

Yeah, I was listening to this album on the same walk at the same time every day and that became the song that I'd anticipate the most after the third listen through.

When The Love Is New and Time Flies were immediately enjoyable

Don't Change a Thing grew pretty quickly, Boilermaker was the longer and potentially better learning curve

Right now, No Place To Be is sounding brilliant

Lots of layers to this one
